Welcome

Welcome to Lingotise. We are passionate about the teaching of English as a Second Language (EAL) and have spent years looking at ways to aid EAL learning. This website focuses on the influence that drama activities, techniques and games can have in the second language classroom.

What we offer

We offer a range of drama based activities that are proven to facilitate communication and support the learning of English as a Second Language. These activities include Scripts, Games, Role Play Activities, Songs and much more! From September 2014 we will also be offering drama workshops for schools aimed specifically for EAL students.

Why drama?

Learning a new language can be a frustrating experience – drama takes pupils away from textbooks and desks, putting them in real life contexts where they can learn a language in a safe and comforting atmosphere. Drama activities are much more useful than phrase books – they allow pupils to explore real life situations in a safe and comforting atmosphere.

Coming soon

There are a number of new things coming soon to Lingotise… September 2014 – Book a Drama Workshop; November 2014 – Starter packs (props/masks/scripts); January 2015 – More FREE resources; April 2015 – Forum Launch

Scripts

All scripts are available as both Word Documents and as pdf files. If you have any trouble downloading these, please Contact Us.

Each script outlines the necessary ability level, the number of participants needed and any props required.

Why use scripts?

Scripts are a perfect way to learn the English language. A conversation cannot be sustained by simply using a phrasebook – scripts include real-life conversations that are vital to the development of a child’s oral communication.

We have made all the scripts based on Traditional Tales free of charge, and there is a selection of original scripts available at just 99 pence each. Traditional Tales are particularly good for EAL learning – not only do they promote good values, but they are an excellent way for an international student to understand British cultural values.
