Welcome

Welcome to Lingotise. We are passionate about the teaching of English as a Second Language (EAL) and have spent years looking at ways to aid EAL learning. This website focuses on the influence that drama activities, techniques and games can have in the second language classroom.

What we offer

We offer a range of drama based activities that are proven to facilitate communication and support the learning of English as a Second Language. These activities include Scripts, Games, Role Play Activities, Songs and much more! From September 2014 we will also be offering drama workshops for schools aimed specifically for EAL students.

Why drama?

Learning a new language can be a frustrating experience – drama takes pupils away from textbooks and desks, putting them in real life contexts where they can learn a language in a safe and comforting atmosphere. Drama activities are much more useful than phrase books – they allow pupils to explore real life situations in a safe and comforting atmosphere.

Coming soon

There are a number of new things coming soon to Lingotise… September 2014 – Book a Drama Workshop; November 2014 – Starter packs (props/masks/scripts); January 2015 – More FREE resources; April 2015 – Forum Launch

Warm up activities

Warm up activities are crucial in the EAL classroom. They help to set the tone for the rest of the lesson, and can often have a positive influence on the atmosphere of the classroom. Many of the students will be nervous about using drama, and so the warm up activities are designed to relax students. A fun warm up can raise energy levels, which will result in a more stimulated, responsive and engaged group of students.
